Empowered Voices is a project run by the nationwide organization Arbeit und Leben Sachsen e.V. Its aim is to empower and activate young people aged 14–27 and provide them with guidance, particularly in the context of political, social, and work-related youth and adult education. The focus is on a self-efficacy-oriented approach that enables young people to understand, classify, and actively shape social challenges. REBELKO supported the project with a target group-oriented social media strategy for Instagram and TikTok, a structured strategy workshop, and the development of a visual social media identity that presents complex social issues in an understandable, low-threshold, and shareable way.

Strategic social media marketing for digital and political education

As part of a joint strategy process, REBELKO supported Empowered Voices in refining its digital focus on Instagram and TikTok. The aim was to create a social media foundation that anchors political and social education for young people in the digital space in an effective, accessible, and contemporary way.
The focus was on developing a clear target vision for communicating with young people aged 14–27. Social media was deliberately understood as a space for dialogue that offers guidance, enables participation, and strengthens self-efficacy—without oversimplifying or moralizing.
The result is a strategic guideline that serves as a binding framework for content, tone, and formats, providing the project team with long-term orientation for editorial work. In addition, the visual appearance of social media communication has been further developed—with an expanded color palette, organic design elements, and targeted typographic highlights for clear visual guidance on social media.

Content Strategy

Clear thematic structure for education, prevention, and activation

Building on the strategic orientation, REBELKO developed an overarching content strategy that structures and prioritizes socially relevant topics and makes them translatable for social media. The goal was to create a topic architecture that allows for depth of content while remaining editorially manageable.
This created a robust content foundation that can be flexibly adapted to current events and enables Empowered Voices to communicate in a scalable, recognizable way on social media.
The content strategy bundles communication into clearly defined topics that cover different objectives—from classification and orientation to prevention, activation, and participation. This structure ensures consistency in presentation while facilitating content planning and development.

Orientation, recognition, and accessibility

The visual social media strategy was a central component of the collaboration with Empowered Voices. The goal was to develop an inclusive, modular design system that offers young people guidance and makes complex social issues accessible and understandable on Instagram and TikTok.
Instead of a purely aesthetic relaunch, we developed a functional design logic based on a modular principle that clearly structures content, creates recognition, and flexibly maps different topics, formats, and usage situations. In this way, the visual concept supports the educational and activation goals of the project—consistently, scalably, and in a way that is suitable for everyday use.

Expanded color palette for greater accessibility and impact

We have deliberately expanded the existing color palette to make content calmer, more accessible, and easier to read. The new colors blend harmoniously into the brand image and support clear visual differentiation in social media feeds.

Organic forms as a visual connecting element

We use a set of soft, organic shapes to visually connect content and create recognition. The design elements ensure proximity, structure, and connectivity—in the feed as well as in stories.

Typographic hierarchy for mobile use

We have established a clear typographic hierarchy that guides the eye without departing from the existing corporate font. Key terms are now highlighted using new color gradients and serve as visual anchors on mobile screens.

Cutouts, graphics, and icons as visual aids

We make targeted use of cutouts, simplified illustrations, and icons to make content easier to grasp and create clear visual anchors. These design elements help users navigate the feed, increase the shareability of content, and help to clearly structure complex topics even on small screens.

Visual content for education and activation

The design and tone of voice were deliberately conceived together at Empowered Voices. The aim was to develop visual social media content that provides guidance, contextualizes social issues, and encourages discussion and participation. Colors, shapes, typography, and text intertwine to support a clear, engaging approach to young target groups.
Visual language helps to quickly highlight key messages, organize content, and make it shareable on social media—across feeds, stories, and moving images. Building on this, modular Canva templates were created for static and moving content, enabling the team to consistently maintain the visual language and use it flexibly.
